GENERAL
INFORMATION
RESERVATIONS 
We are pleased to
help with reservations in person or by telephone, six days a week from 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Weekly rentals are from Saturday
to Saturday. Other rental periods are possible at certain times of the year.
Monthly rates are available on request. Each cottage is individually owned,
decorated and equipped according to the owner's preference. PLEASE NOTE:
While we cannot guarantee appliances and equipment, any malfunction will be
repaired as soon as possible. NO REFUNDS will be made for appliance or
equipment failures.
RENTAL UNIT
OWNERS
Jekyll Realty does not own
any of the rental units but represents the owners of each unit it manages
and is acting at all times as an agent of and in the best interest of the
owners.
RIGHT TO
SUBSTITUTE ACCOMMODATIONS
Although we strive to provide
the specific unit reserved, because of unforeseen circumstances due to owner
changes, mechanical failures, etc., we cannot absolutely guarantee such
availability. Jekyll Realty reserves the right to provide alternate
accommodations without liability should the unit become unavailable. If
suitable alternate accommodations are not available, we will refund in full
any deposit received.
CANCELLATIONS
Deposits
will be refunded, less the processing fee, if reservation is cancelled 90
days prior to scheduled arrival date. Because each unit is individually
owned, upon cancellation or change of units within 90 days, a refund of the
deposit will not be made unless the unit is re-rented for the same period.
There will not be a refund in the case of a mandatory evacuation on account
of a hurricane. A
change of units within 90 days is treated as a cancellation. There is a
$50.00 processing fee on all cancellations. Trip interruption insurance is
available for your protection and is recommended.
DEPOSITS
Reservations are accepted
with one-half of the rent due and payable within ten days. If the deposit is
not received within the 10-day period, the reservation will be cancelled.
The balance plus taxes is due 30 days prior to your arrival. Georgia sales
tax is 7%. A 5% hotel-motel tax is charged on the first 10 days or less of
any stay. Prices/Taxes subject to change.
CHECK-IN
/ CHECKOUT TIME
Check-in
is between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Please call us if you
are arriving after 5:00 p.m.
Because
our guests are often arriving and departing from houses on the same day and
houses must be cleaned throughout, we must insist that guests leave on time
and not expect to check-in early. We appreciate that this may be
inconvenient at times, however, it is essential that we give each guest the
same degree of courtesy in allowing them to arrive and depart in a manner
that accommodates the needs of both.
OCCUPANCY
Jekyll Realty
does not rent to fraternities, sororities, school groups or to anyone under
the age of 23 unless accompanied by a parent. Maximum occupancy of each
house is listed in the individual unit description and is strictly enforced.
Children in cribs are not counted. Although the occupancy of a unit will
include the use of sofa beds, these are not recommended for adult use. Homes
cannot be used for large parties or wedding receptions. Loud or unusual
behavior creating a disturbance is strictly prohibited. Anyone violating
these or any other rental policy of Jekyll Realty will be subject to
immediate eviction and forfeiture of rental monies paid.
PETS:
NO PETS PERMITTED IN SUMMER
At other
times, pets are permitted in some cottages with prior approval and a
$100, non-refundable pet fee. Boarding is available in Brunswick. Tenants
will be subject to eviction without refund if pets are found on the premises
of any home not allowing pets.
METHOD
OF PAYMENT
Visa,
MasterCard, Cash, and Travelers Checks are acceptable and personal checks
are accepted up to 30 days prior to arrival.

All cottages
have housekeeping equipment (broom, mop and vacuum cleaner). Each cottage
has central heat, air conditioning, telephones, color TV, microwave, basic
dishes and cookware, coffee maker, toaster, iron, ironing board, bedspreads,
pillows, mattress pads and blankets.

Realty has a limited number of these available for rent. Cribs and High
Chairs are $15.00 per week, and

sales tax is applicable.

Linens
are not furnished. You may bring your own or rent them.

POOL
PASSES
Daily pool
passes may be available from one or more of the island hotels. Check with us
for details.
OTHER
CHARGES
A reservation
fee of $15.00 will be added to each reservation for administration costs and
the processing of your reservation, and is non-refundable.
DAMAGE
DEPOSIT
At this time,
Jekyll Realty does not charge a damage security deposit. However, in the
event someone in your party does cause damage, please report it to our
office immediately. Guests are held accountable for any property damage,
missing items or extraordinary cleaning. Damages or breakage should be
reported promptly and arrangements made prior to departure to cover any
costs related to damage.
SHORT
STAYS (Less than 1 week, minimum of 3 nights)
Short stays
are permissible in most cottages at certain times of the year (generally
off-season except holidays). Rates for short stays are determined by
dividing the weekly rate by five, then multiplying that number by the number
of nights you wish to stay. The rent will be subject to taxes, etc.
PARKING
FEES
The parking
fee for entry onto Jekyll Island is used to support conservation and
stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of the Island. Fees are
$3.00 per day for multiple entries before midnight and $40.00 for an annual decal (unlimited entry for 12 months).
PROTECT
JEKYLL'S NATURAL WONDERS
Jekyll's
beaches are open to the public year-round; swim at your own risk. Our sand
dunes are natural buffers which protect inland areas and buildings from
tides, winds and storms. Use crossovers for beach access and avoid walking
on sand dunes, disturbing plant life or any of the abundant wildlife on
Jekyll. By law, 65% of Jekyll Island must remain undeveloped, making it a
refuge for all types of creatures such as sea turtles, deer, migratory
birds, etc..
JEKYLL'S
TIDAL WONDERS
Barrier
islands run the length of Georgia's coastline. Jekyll Island is one of the
smallest. Wind, waves and tidal currents are constantly changing the shape
of Jekyll. The sand gradually moves south as weather and tides dictate. In
this particular coastal area, tide changes occur approximately every 5 hours
and 55 minutes and water levels on the beach change from the lowest tide to
as much as 9 feet above low tide during the time of a full moon.
The
sand gradually moves from north to south. You will notice that our beach is
relatively narrow toward the North end and much wider at the South. We have
as much as 10 miles of beach at low tide and somewhat less at high tide.
Based on the tides, beachgoers could expect to enjoy the beach at the North
end during about half of the day and the whole day at the South end. Ask our
